Research Areas

Current and future research directions of the Center include an application-oriented approach to intelligent control of manufacturing systems and medical robotics. A complete control and computing methodology is being developed, integrating graphics simulation, off-line and on-line workspace analysis, automated path synthesis and high servo rate, and real-time, event-based manipulator control. Parallel to the derivation of theoretical results, the algorithms are implemented on the controller hardware and experimentally verified. Experimental development has been a cornerstone in the success of the Center, providing solid practical footing for further technological achievements.
